We develop custom products, whether by taking full ownership of the project, co-developing with your team, or stepping in at specific stages.

We can support you from the earliest ideation phases, carry out targeted technology scouting, and identify the best approaches to design an efficient product that is easy to manufacture. We ensure the design complies with applicable standards (EMC, safety, etc.) and is optimized for manufacturing and assembly (design for manufacturing). We use numerical simulation (mechanical, thermal, electronic, magnetic, and software) to validate technical choices early, ahead of detailed design.

We deliver proof of concept work, a minimum viable product (MVP), prototyping, and prototype testing. Once the product is finalized, we handle the full transfer. We provide you with the intellectual property and make sure you are autonomous for the product’s evolution and maintenance.

With our expertise in physics, we make your products perceptive, responsive, and intelligent. To connect a product to its environment, it needs to sense and react. That starts with integrating sensors and actuators. Sensors detect events, and actuators generate an appropriate response. We select, design, and integrate these components directly into your products.

Selection and integration of sensors

Choosing the right sensor means finding the right balance between performance, cost, and ease of integration, while taking into account the environment in which the product will operate.

First, select the most appropriate sensors according to your needs. You can also compare options by conducting comparative tests between different sensor technologies.

Then, the sensors are properly integrated to achieve the expected results. Even the best sensors will not perform as desired if they are poorly integrated. We also take care of the physical installation, the interface with the product or process, signal conversion (e.g., analog to digital), and software processing of the acquired data.

Development of custom sensors

When there is no sensor on the market that meets the specific requirements of a project, we develop a custom solution. We design sensors tailored to your constraints and objectives.

Our expertise covers a wide variety of technologies: capacitive, resistive, pressure, surface acoustic wave, mmWave sensors, etc. We measure quantities such as distance, speed, compaction, fluid thickness, the presence of contaminants, permeability, and much more.

Thermal

Heat management is essential, for example to prevent overheating or to maintain a desired temperature. To optimize a product’s performance and durability, we design tailored thermal solutions such as heat sinks, or we use phase change materials to store and regulate thermal energy. For fast, optimized development, we leverage our expertise in numerical simulation using specialized software such as FloEFD.

 

Magnetism

Magnetic fields can be useful for moving an object or detecting a defect, and they can also be harmful when they interfere with operation. In both cases, we know how to harness them or protect against them through precise sizing or effective shielding.

Vibrations

Vibrations reduce reliability and performance. We address them at the source and design systems that absorb or damp them to extend product lifespan.

Acoustics

We factor noise emissions into the design process to create products that stand out for the listening comfort they provide to users.

Optics

Our design process integrates lighting considerations. We avoid harmful reflections and optimize the light emitted or received by the product.

General and control electronics

We pay close attention to signal integrity to ensure high communication speeds and reduce errors caused by data transmission. We also limit the electromagnetic noise emitted by the product and its susceptibility to external interference.

From idea to production

We support you at every stage of development to turn your idea into a market ready product. This includes product ideation, translating standards into design and validation requirements ahead of launch, and carrying through to final testing.

We handle all the essentials around the electronics: enclosure, brackets, fasteners, fuses, wiring, chassis grounding, thermal dissipation, and more. We provide prototyping, develop test benches, and carry out testing based on your requirements and the applicable standards.

Finally, we ensure the product is easy to manufacture through a manufacturability analysis, and we design production test benches. We also assess PCB compliance with IPC standards.

Connecting the physical world to your product

We specialize in electronics that connect sensors and actuators to the product: motion, temperature, humidity, lighting, measurement, activity, and more. We understand the physics behind measurement, which enables better signal processing and better product control.

We design electronic interfaces that efficiently integrate these sensors and actuators into the product, the process, and its operating environment. Sensors can generate very large volumes of data, and we know how to transfer, process, and record it quickly and reliably. We design communications using standard wired links (Ethernet, serial, USB, CAN, etc.), wireless links (Wi Fi, Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy, cellular, satellite, etc.), or custom links, depending on your needs.

Power electronics

Power electronics manage your product’s power supply and electrical consumption. Our goal is to optimize energy efficiency and overall cost.

We work across a wide power range, from microwatts up to 150 kilowatts, to design:

  • ultra low power electronic products to reduce consumption and optimize load usage
  • medium and high power electrical converters
  • regulated power supplies (current, voltage, power, frequency, or pulsed) tailored to the load and physical constraints

We also integrate battery use and management systems (BMS) and other types of energy storage. We handle thermal management for power circuits as well.

Mechanical enclosure design

In addition to many turnkey projects, we regularly contribute to the design of technology products by developing mechanical enclosures that are well suited to the application and easy to manufacture. Whether it involves housings, brackets, actuators, access points, or shielding, we create the ideal enclosure so the electronics, software, and optics can operate safely.

Embedded software

Software is the interpreter between you and the electronics. It includes the graphical user interface (GUI), what we like to call the human machine interface.

It is what enables a product to interact with users, with its environment, and with other products and machines. Embedded software turns an instruction into a complex action, processes data, and makes decisions.

Embedded software also enables machines to communicate even when they use different programming languages. It is the link to the outside world, providing access to Wi Fi, cellular, Ethernet, and more. It adds intelligence to the product through algorithms tailored to the application, from the simplest logic to advanced AI.

PC, web, or mobile software

We design robust solutions tailored to the demands of complex industrial environments. With our expertise in industrial physics, we develop specialized software for interpreting physical phenomena and processing the associated data.

Software processing often takes place outside the product itself, for example to access greater computing power, reduce product cost, or bring processing closer to users on a PC, on the web, or on a mobile device. That is why we develop dedicated software to ensure communication between the product and these remote resources. In parallel, data processing software runs on those resources to do its work.

Beyond the figures, a sensible result

Data quality is critical. No matter how sophisticated or powerful a system or algorithm is, if it receives incorrect, incomplete, or poorly formatted input data, the output will inevitably be biased or unusable. Garbage in, garbage out: not with us.
